Application deadline: Monday, April 17, 2007
The Dag Hammarskjöld Scholarship Fund for Journalists is now accepting applications from young journalists for its 2007 Fellowship Program. The Fellowship Program is open to professional radio, television and print journalists from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe who are interested in coming to New York to report on international affairs during the 62nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly which starts in September. It offers a unique opportunity for promising young journalists from Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America to see the United Nations at work and to report on its proceedings for news media in their home countries. Applicants must be full-time, professional journalists between 25 and 35 years old, be employed by a recognized print or broadcast media organization, and have a good working knowledge of English. The 10-week Fellowship will begin in early September, just before the General Assembly session begins.
