New York State Senator Eric Schneiderman is seeking to fill a full-time
Scheduler/Community Liaison Position for his busy New York City
Office.
Senator Schneiderman represents the 31st Senate District, which
consists
of part of the Upper West Side, West Harlem, Washington Heights,
Inwood
and Marble Hill in Manhattan, and Marble Hill and Riverdale in the
Bronx. He is a progressive Democrat whose prime areas of interest
include economic justice, education, universal health care,
immigration,
environmental protection, campaign finance, gun control, reforming the
Rockefeller Drug Laws, and protecting a woman’s right to choose.
Position Description
Scheduler
Responsible for maintaining the Senator’s schedule, arranging
logistics
and advance for events he is attending, writing follow up notes, and
other administrative tasks.
Community Liaison
Closely monitor community issues, represent the Senator at community
meetings, organize community events, respond to constituent letters
and
track and research various issues and policies that affect the
constituents of the 31st Senate District.
Applicant must be fully bilingual (English/Spanish) and have a
bachelor’s degree. Salary in the $30s plus benefits.
Qualifications
Applicants for this position must have a bachelor’s degree and at
least
some work experience. The ideal applicant should be an outgoing
individual who is detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational
skills, as well as good written and oral communication skills, and is
able to multi-task. Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish a must.
