Seeking Candidates for the Position of*
–Director for Operations–*
Washington, DC

Global Justice is a national organization dedicated to mobilizing a
powerful movement of young people and students in the US to achieve a
more responsible, engaged, and justice-oriented US foreign policy. We
house a growing number of student-led campaigns that operate through
volunteer leaders and chapters on campuses engaging in independent
projects as well as participating in collective national initiatives.
Our current campaigns are the Student Global AIDS Campaign, the Student
Campaign for Child Survival, and the Student Trade Justice Campaign. Our
Washington, DC-based staff includes our director, communications/tech
coordinator, and organizers for each campaign along with a host of
interns and volunteers.

*Job Description: *As a growing organization, Global Justice is creating
the position of Director for Operations to lead our work in the areas of
organizational infrastructure, communications with both our constituency
and the public, and development and engagement of individual donors. The
DO will work with her/his counterpart, the Director for Program & Policy
to lead the organization, helping develop and implement all of Global
Justice’s projects, and support the work of staff and student-leaders of
the organization. S/he will assume primary responsibility for
creating/managing the infrastructure we need to take our
global-change-making work to the next level, including communications,
bookkeeping, human resources, information management and administrative
oversight. The Director for Operations will share responsibility for
fundraising, including foundation grants management, oversight of
special events, and development and implementation of plans to increase
individual donors.

*Qualifications: *We are seeking a professional with a minimum of five
(5) years of experience, including work at a supervisory-level.
Essential to work at Global Justice is a demonstrated commitment to
social and economic justice work. Equally important is a readiness and
ability to work collaboratively with students and young people.
Additionally, the Director for Operations must be able and willing to
work in a collaborative capacity with the Director for Program & Policy,
as the two will serve as co-directors of Global Justice.

*Candidate should have:*

· demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills;
· experience in fundraising from individuals and a readiness to
learn/take leadership in this area;
· experience with fiscal management and communications work;
· strong writing skills;
· exceptional ability when it comes to planning and implementing systems;
· related masters or equivalent experience preferred;
· background in global justice work and student campaigning a plus.
