1) Ecoagricultural Partners, Policy Research Intern
Ecoagricultural Partners Seeking Summer Policy Research Intern
Ecoagriculture Partners ( www.ecoagriculturepartners.org), a small but
rapidly-growing international non-profit organization, is seeking a
summer intern for 30-40 hours/week to provide programmatic support and
assist in the daily operations of the organization. The position is a 2-3
month internship, to begin in early June. Preference will be given to
students with external funding (from their university or another
organization), but a small stipend may be available.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Providing general research and writing assistance to various
ecoagriculture policy and research projects. Subjects will include the
Convention on Biological Diversity, biofuels, and ecoagriculture policy
indicators, among others. Ecoagriculture Partners will work with the intern
to develop a workplan that both fits his/her academic interests and the
Ecoagriculture Partners agenda.
• Editing of EP reports, publications, and outreach materials.
• Attending various lectures and events and reporting back on the
highlights of the discussions.
• Providing general operational support.
Required:
• Master’s Student in a field related to Ecoagriculture Partner’s
work (e.g., agriculture, conservation, economics, policy, international
affairs, development)
• Excellent English writing and editing skills.
• Education and experience in international affairs relevant to
ecoagriculture.
Desirable:
• Experience in a non-profit setting.
• Fluency in reading and speaking Spanish.
• Experience in cross-cultural communications.

2) Washington State Department of Ecology Seeking Oil Spill Planner
Position description:
1. Plans, observes, evaluates and participates in drills and spill
responses of regulated vessels, facilities and response contractors.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the plans, response equipment and personnel
capability through realistic and strategically designed drills. Over the
three year drill cycle, tracks the achievement by industry of the
designated drill objectives, and the readiness status of major response
equipment in the region. Participates in drill design and encouraging
drills which will maximize demonstration of plan holders response
capabilities and environmental protection. Meets the performance measures for
timely evaluations of drills. Promptly and thoroughly records drill
information in the Marine Information System (MIS) database
2. Under the requirements of the joint federal and state protocol,
reviews, analyzes and recommends plans for approval using both state and
federal standards. Meets performance measures for timely reviews.
Accurately maintains plan updates for each copy of the plan located
throughout in the various program offices. Promptly and thoroughly records
information in the MIS database. Provides technical assistance
(internally and externally) on preparedness. Stays aware of and coordinates
within the program on all major issues that relate to the regulated
vessels and facilities that this position is assigned to manage.
3. Assists with the development and maintenance of the geographic
response plans. Participates in investigation and enforcement activities
for regulated vessels and facilities. Participates on the Spills
overhead team in positions designated on the team roster. Trains and
demonstrates competency through DRILLTRAC. Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree involving major study in
environmental, physical, maritime or one of the natural sciences,
environmental planning or other allied field and five years of
professional-level experience in environmental analysis or control, or environmental
planning which includes one year equal to an Environmental Specialist 3
or above or two years equal to an Environmental Specialist 2 or above.
Additional qualifying experience will substitute, year for year, for
education. OR A Master’s degree in one of the above fields and three
years of professional- level experience as required above which includes
one year equal to an Environmental Specialist 3 or above or two years
equal to an Environmental Specialist 2 or above. OR A Ph.D. in one of
the above fields and two years of professional-level experience as
required above which includes one year equal to an Environmental Specialist 3
or above or two years equal to an Environmental Specialist 2 or above.

Climate Trust Seeking Business Development Manager

seeking a Business Development Manager to manage our expanding business
development work in the U.S. carbon market. This is an exciting
opportunity to work on innovative climate change solutions in a highly
collaborative, congenial, and entrepreneurial atmosphere.
Major responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager will have responsibility in the
following program areas:
•Large Emitter Program. One of the organization’s core business
areas is working with companies seeking to understand the greenhouse gas
(GHG) offset market and acquire GHG offsets and GHG offset projects.
Clients include large electric utilities. The Business Development Manager
will support expansion of the Climate Trust’s work in this area.
•”Donate to Offset” Program. The Climate Trust works with a wide
range of companies and organizations looking to voluntarily address their
GHG emissions through offsets. The Business Development Manager will
have responsibility for the ongoing expansion of these programs.
•CarbonCounter.org. The Climate Trust maintains a web resource for
individuals to purchase GHG offsets. The Business Development Manager
will be responsible for maintaining CarbonCounter.org as one of the
leading web resources for individuals seeking offsets.
Other Responsibilities:
•Administer the Climate Trust’s marketing tracking system, which
includes client and prospect information, mailing lists, access to client
information, etc.
•Support the organization’s overall marketing and communications
programs, plans and initiatives.
•Support development of new offset products and programs.
•Maintain client information flow and quality, and respond to
information requests
in a timely manner.
•Prepare supporting materials for presentations.
•Assist with and support The Climate Trust’s involvement in various
partnerships
and networks including coordinating business development and marketing
activities via these relationships.
Qualifications:
Required:
•Undergraduate degree in business or relevant discipline.
•Minimum of three years work experience with climate change issues,
renewable
energy, environmental markets, or other related field.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
•Masters degree in business or relevant discipline.
•Experience with the carbon market and GHG offsets.

Climate Trust Seeking Offset Project Analyst
The Climate Trust is seeking a technically savvy and highly motivated
individual with experience in the greenhouse gas market to assess
project proposals, negotiate Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements (ERPAs)
and manage contracts. This is an exciting opportunity to work on
innovative climate change solutions in a highly collaborative, congenial, and
entrepreneurial atmosphere.
Major responsibilities:
This position will work with the Offset Portfolio team on acquiring,
managing and registering greenhouse gas offset projects. We are most
interested in hiring an individual with technical experience in a relevant
offset sector (e.g., renewables, energy efficiency, or fuel-switching,
etc.) to provide valuable input on reviewing and evaluating offset
project proposals. In addition to offset portfolio work, this position will
assist with the Climate Trust’s consulting work on an as needed
basis.
Offset Acquisition
•Review and evaluate greenhouse gas offset project proposals.
•Conduct due diligence on proposing organizations.
•Prepare briefing documents for staff, committees and partners.
•Assist in preparing and finalizing ERPAs (this position will work
with the Offset
Portfolio team to negotiate contracts with new offset project
providers).
•Stay abreast of developments in the U.S. offset market.
Contract Management
•Support the Offset Portfolio team in the preparation of monitoring
and verification plans for offset projects.
•Support the Offset Portfolio team with management of the Climate
Trust’s existing project portfolio, including tracking offset projects,
communicating with offset developers, developing contract amendments,
etc.
Consulting
•Support the production of consulting products.
Qualifications:
Required
•Technical knowledge of projects involving energy efficiency,
renewable energy, transportation efficiency or other project types.
•General knowledge of climate change policy, economics, and science.
•Excellent writing and research skills.
•Bachelors degree in engineering, environmental studies, pre-law or
related
discipline, and at least two years experience in relevant field.
Preferred
•Experience with greenhouse gas offset projects.
•Experience with contract negotiations or legal writing.
•Masters degree in engineering or related discipline.

Media Relations
•Manage The Climate Trust’s overall press and publicity activities.

website (this is a separate website maintained by The Climate Trust).
Marketing
•Design and develop marketing materials.
•Develop core communication/marketing messages and recommend
branding strategies.
•Maintain current and well-targeted marketing and distribution
lists.
•Identify conferences and other events the Climate Trust should
consider participating in.
Grant Writing
•Assist staff with writing and preparing foundation grant
applications.
Qualifications:
Required
•Bachelors degree in communications, public relations, environmental
studies, or other relevant discipline.
•Minimum three years experience in communications, public relations,
marketing, or other relevant field.
•Superior writing ability.
•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be a self-starter.
•Strong interest in working on climate change issues.
Preferred
•Experience with environmental issues (in particular with climate
change and/or energy issues).
•Experience with managing website content and layout.
